Oni can be accessed by the road in about 5 hours (~300 km) from Tbilisi - see a map on the right

There is a direct minibus connection to Oni from the Didube station in Tbilisi. There is a metro (Underground train) station with the same name (Metro station "Didube") in 10 minutes of walking distance from the bus stop

Bus (Mercedes Sprinter type) runs once per day early in the morning. Departure time is between 8 and 9 am. Ticket cost (as per Jan 2018) is 20 GEL (equivalent of US$ 8). There is no reservation required, but only if you're travelling alone or as part of the small group (2-3 people). Just go to the bus departure gate by 8 am and buy tickets in the tickets desk. Desk is located next to the bus gate* *gate number is 19 .

From Oni to Tbilisi minibus runs one time per day at 8:30 am

Taxi / shuttle bus

If you're travelling with the bigger group, you might consider ordering a shuttle bus. It might cost your group around 250-300 GEL (US$ 100-120). Taxi ride might cost you approximate 160-200 GEL (US$ 60-80). This option (taxi / shuttle bus) is only available if airport is your starting point.

Notes about selection of way of transport:

Option (taxi / shuttle bus) is only available if airport is your starting point on the way to Racha (Oni). Taking marshrutka has more sense if you're staying overnight in Tbilisi (or Kutaisi – see more details below) and travelling alone and/or as part of the small group and would like to save money (public transport as marshrutka is subsidized by the government). This is also a MUST choice to got great and safe experience of travelling and interacting with the local people.

There is minibus / Marshrutka service to Oni from Kutaisi central bus station (and way around, too). Frequency – 2 times per day (morning and afternoon):
- From Kutaisi central bus station to Oni: at 9 am and 3:30 pm;
- From Oni to Kutaisi central bus station: at 9.30 am and 3:00 pm
Tickets price is 12 GEL (US$ 5) per person
Taxi / shuttle bus

Consider those amounts to be ready to spend: GEL 120-150 (US$ 50-60) for the taxi and GEL 200-250 (US$ 80-100) for the shuttle bus.

For different radial trips (up to 80 km per day ) – local shuttle bus/transport ( with different capacity) could be rented. Average cost is GEL 150/day (US $ 60) per bus. This is inclusive of ride, waiting time, and, return.
